About
ClarksvilleMommies
| MISSION |
To provide a safe, secure, FREE place for
mothers to find support and encouragement from other mothers and to empower them
to be better women, parents and community leaders. |
| PHILOSOPHY |
No one should have to pay a fee to make a
friend, so we offer free membership to any mother within the community who
wishes to join. Members gain camaraderie and support through an online forum
that is available 24 hours a day and events around the area where mothers can
meet face-to-face and develop real friendships that can last a lifetime.
We believe that, working together, mothers can change
the world - one family, one neighborhood, one community at a time. ClarksvilleMommies is
a connecting force, helping us each to make a difference in our own lives,
in our families and in the places we call home. |
| ABOUT US |
ClarksvilleMommies.com is a community within The Mommies Network. In Raleigh, Blythe Belenky was a member of TriangleMommies.com and felt lost in Tennessee without it. She did not know how to find the answers to simple questions, such as what preschool is the best, where to get a haircut, which park will be the most fun, or where to buy produce? Blythe found TriangleMommies.com to be a wonderful resource for finding out about the area and finding friends, many of whom she knows will be life-long. In September 2009, she started ClarksvilleMommies.com to share her experiences and to offer other moms the advantages of a Mommies Network site and the ability to make friends.
We chat online in a private forum - discussing
everything from the best photographers to the worst temper tantrums and all that
lies between - and meet-up regularly at member-driven events around town. Whether
it's a late night commiseration on a crying baby (there are 4 am posts to prove
it) or a Mom's Night Out, ClarksvilleMommies provides what our members need, when and how they
need it.
But ClarksvilleMommies is more than just a community of moms. It's moms
in and for the community. Our members work full time, stay home full time, work
part time, represent many races, are pregnant for the first time, are adoptive
moms, were adopted themselves, recently moved to the area, have lived here all
our lives, have twins, are happy with one, are single moms, are searching out
schools and have watched their kids graduate. In other words, we are a reflection
of mothers in the real world. And we help out our neighbors as much as ourselves
through organized fundraisers and other charity events - specifically those focused
on providing for mothers and their children. |
